FDM Offer Solution to Advent Training Closure

01-10-2011 02:00 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: FDM Group

Trainees impacted by the sudden closure of training company Advent in 2010 are being offered new hope from leading IT graduate employer FDM Group.

Awarded ‘Best Technical Graduate Recruiter’ at the 2010 National Graduate Recruitment Awards, FDM Group is encouraging disgruntled Advent trainees to continue to pursue a career in IT.

This comes as FDM announce plans to double its graduate intake in 2011, creating 1000 new IT jobs as the UK’s largest IT graduate employer.

Over 6,000 students have lost up to £4,500 in course fees to IT training provider Advent, who suddenly announced they had failed to secure funding and their training would be immediately stopped. Instead of risking paying more money for further training, trainees should consider joining companies such as FDM who offer free training in commercial technologies to those who successfully embark on its two-year Academy Programme.

In addition to the training, candidates gain commercial experience working on client sites in order to become professional IT Consultants with solid skills and industry expertise.

Sheila Flavell, FDM’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “There is a bigger demand than ever for IT professionals and there will never be a shortage of jobs in the sector due to the increasingly important role it plays in society. We are passionate about training graduates to kick-start their IT careers and will continue to play an important role in encouraging graduates to pursue a career in the IT sector”.
