Shanghai International Commodity Auction (GUOPAI) Signs Joint Agreement with Australian Wine Index

Shanghai, China – Shanghai International Commodity Auction Co. Ltd. has signed an joint agreement with Australian Wine Index (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. to operate fine wine auctions together.
“AWI is proud to be the first in company in history to hold fine wine auctions in Mainland China” said Mr. Andrew Basset, Director of Australian Wine Index (Singapore). “This will provide fine wine collectors in China, the venue and opportunity to start, and profit from their wine collection”.
Mr. Edward Davidson (AWI) will be the appointed Fine Wine Expert, who will lead Australian Wine Index, together with Shanghai International Commodity Auction Co. Ltd, as the pioneers to auction fine wine collections in Shanghai.
A Fine pedigree
Shanghai International Commodity Auction Co, Ltd. was established two decades ago in Shanghai, by approval of Commerce Ministry of China and Shanghai Municipal Government. It is one of first two auction houses that emerged after the Reform and
Opening policies were implemented in China. Since its establishment, GUOPAI organizes many auction activities that draw famous reputation in China - In March 2003, it sold a naming right by auction for a maglev train, the first commercial one in China. November of 2009 witnessed its honor to be the official auction partner of Expo 2010 Shanghai.
