Coastec and CYMTV sign agreement for OTT cloud-based TV

Wunstorf, December 20th 2010
Coastec GmbH and CYMTV B.V. have signed an agreement that enables Coastec to use CYMTV’s cloud-based video streaming solution for the upcoming Coastec.TV platform.

Coastec.TV is a social community portal that offers live and on-demand TV channels on a four-screens-solution (TV, PC, mobile and tablet). One of the initial target customer groups of Coastec.TV will be expat communities that can use the portal to access TV channels and other content from their original country of origin.

In addition, Coastec.TV offers full social networking features and integration with other existing social community networks such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.

Frank Sievers, European Office Manager of Coastec GmbH writes: “The technology from CYMTV allows us to build the Coastec.TV platform and make it available for all four screens, using the standard (over-the-top) internet. This means a widely accessible and easy-to-use way to access content for our users.”

Ron van Herk, Managing Director of CYMTV B.V. writes: “Coastec GmbH has a great concept in Coastec.TV, and we believe that our cloud streaming technology will help in making this platform the leading TV source for expat communities – for starters.”

Live testing of the Coastec.TV platform will commence in January 2011, beta-testers are welcome to apply.
