New PISA Protection Module from PULS Maintains PLC Power when Other Circuits Fail
Press release from: PULS UK
PR Agency: The Words Workshop
A newly developed protection module from leading power supply manufacturer PULS gives users the ability to connect PLCs or other critical equipment directly to one 24V power supply and at the same time protect up to four other associated circuits. In the event of one or more of these circuits becoming overloaded the PISA module interrupts the current to prevent the output voltage to the PLC being adversely affected. Each output channel is fitted with an internal fuse conforming to UL248 and meeting the requirements of Branch Circuit Protection UL508A section 31.1.2.
PISA also serves as a diagnostic tool by identifying which circuit has failed, making fault finding easy and reducing downtime.
The PISA modules give operators the opportunity to connect devices according to their power requirements via four current monitored output channels. A range of outputs ranging from 3A to 10A is available allowing wiring of a smaller cross-section to be used where appropriate thereby saving costs.
PULS UK’s Managing Director Harry Moore said, “The PISA module offers customers a number of advantages both in terms of protecting vital circuits from failure and saving costs by allowing cabling to be used more intelligently. Along side that, PISA’s ability to pin-point an overloaded circuit is a valuable tool for assisting fault diagnosis in the working environment where time is money.”
PULS UK is a specialist manufacturer of DIN Rail power supplies and has developed some of the most advanced technologies for use within power supplies allowing them to achieve the highest efficiencies. PULS UK is a subsidiary of PULS GmbH, based in Munich, Germany. With three factories it is the second largest producer of DIN Rail power supplies in the world.
