AwoX Offers Over-the-Top Platform Based on STi7105 system-on-chip

(openPR) - AwoX now shipping the first white-label product that enables operators and manufacturers to offer premium video-on-demand content on a Europe-wide basis
AwoX, a leading international supplier of Internet media devices, announces the availability of its pan-Europe premium-video platform products for OEMs and operators based on the STMicroelectronics STi7105 system-on-chip.
AwoX provides technology products under white label, enabling people to play Internet multimedia content in their homes via a Wi-Fi, or Ethernet connection using their regular Internet access points. Leveraging the advanced media playback capabilities of the STi7105 system-on-chip, the new AwoX platform is now being used to deliver the first fully Europe-wide product offer to stream major video on demand portals and catch-up TV services for Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, and the UK. In addition, the AwoX platform also enables playing multimedia files and high-definition digital terrestrial TV, as well as integrating cutting-edge DLNA compatible features into new TV designs.

The AwoX platform based on the STi7105 system-on-chip currently includes four products: “Stone”, which enables operators to provides access to multi-room services from any TV; “Fox”, which enables box manufacturers to provide consumers with access to premium over-the-top services using their TV; “Foster”, which is a connected TV module ready for integration into existing TV chassis; and “Moore”, which adds digital terrestrial TV reception to over-the-top Internet services (product available in Q1 2011). All AwoX products are based on AwoX DLNA Technology Components.
