Richard Straub, founder of the Global Peter Drucker Forum, awarded Grand Decoration of Honour of the Republic of Austria: Austria’s “Outstanding Ambassador” in the Management World

Paris, January 29, 2019 - In a ceremony at the Austrian Embassy in Paris on January 25, Dr. Ing. Richard Straub was awarded the Grand Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria by the Austrian Ambassador, Michael Linhart. The award marked the 10th anniversary of the Global Peter Drucker Forum, the annual management summit in Vienna established by Straub to perpetuate the memory and intellectual heritage of Austrian-born Peter Drucker, often called the founder of modern management. "I am delighted to accept this award from the Republic of Austria as a tribute to the global reach and impact of the Peter Drucker Forum and a welcome recognition of the importance of management and leadership for the economy and society as a whole", Straub, a long-time Paris resident, said at the ceremony, thanking his colleagues for their help in the hard work of bringing the event to its present status.

In his speech, Ambassador Linhart emphasized that thanks to the annual Global Peter Drucker Forum, Vienna had become a center of modern management thinking, with Richard Straub, its preeminent emissary, projecting the tradition and spirit of Peter Drucker from the past into the present and future.

This year, the Global Peter Drucker Forum will take place at the on 21 and 22 November at the Vienna Hofburg.

The Global Peter Drucker Forum is an international management conference dedicated to the management philosophy of Peter Drucker. Drucker, who lived from 1909 to 2005, was a management professor, writer, and consultant, frequently referred to as a "management guru." The Forum is held annually in November, in Drucker's home town of Vienna, Austria.
