PMForum.org names Professor Rajat Baisya in Delhi, India as International Editorial Advisor for PM World Today

(openPR) - Dallas, Texas – February 5, 2007 — PMForum.org announced today that Dr. Rajat Baisya, Professor of Project Management at the Indian Institute of Technology – Delhi, India, has been named an international editorial advisor for the online PM World Today eJournal. On 5 January 2007, the company announced the formation of an International Editorial Advisory Council for PM World Today, to include representatives from some of the world’s leading universities offering graduate programs in project management.
According to managing editor David Pells, “Dr. Baisya is the most recognized professor of project management at one of the leading universities in India. As former head of the business school, and as a former senior executive at several major corporations, he is well connected with both Indian industry and government leaders. He is also active in the international professional community. It is an honor to have him join our editorial advisory team.”
Rajat Kanti Baisya, PhD, is Professor of Marketing, Strategic Management, International Business and Project Management, and former Head of the Business School, at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Dr. Baisya is also a Visiting Professor of Strategic Management at the Ecole Nationale des ponts et chaussees (ENPC) International Business School in Paris, France. Prof Baisya obtained his B. Sc. (Honours in chemistry) degree from Calcutta University and his B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D (Engineering) degrees from Jadavpur University. He has served for over twenty eight years in industry, in a variety of senior capacities with large Indian and Multinational corporations. He was President & CEO of Emami Group of companies, Senior Vice President – Business Development of Reckitt & Colman of India Ltd, CEO- International Business of Escorts Ltd, and General Manager (Projects) of Goetze India Ltd, an Indo German joint venture in auto component manufacturing. He is also former General Manager, Corporate Planning, of United Breweries Group; former Project Engineering Manager of Best Foods International, a Unilever company; and former Project Manager at Bisleri India Ltd. He is a consultant to many Indian organizations, including the Airport Authority of India, and overseas (Unisantis Dubai) corporations. Dr. Baisya serves as non-executive member of the board of several companies including Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Ltd, a public sector undertaking.
Prof Baisya is a task force member in the Ministry of Public Sector Enterprises, Government of India. He has over 200 publications and two books to his credit and is a recipient of many awards including the Gardner Award and Dr J.S. Pruthi Award for significant contributions in Industry. He is a member of the editorial board of several Indian and International journals, including the journal of Scientific & Industrial Research, the International Journal of Project Management, and the International Journal on Asia Entrepreneurship. He is member of the research management board of the International Project Management Association (IPMA), Switzerland and a Research Advisory Board Member for the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Prof Baisya is a member of numerous professional societies including Life member of All India Food Processors’ Association, Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (India), Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, Institution of Engineers, Society For Scientific Value, All India Management Association, Consultancy Development Center, Institute of Management Consultants of India, Project Management Associates, and others.
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-Delhi), located in the centre of the capital city of India, is globally recognized as a top ranking academic institution in the areas of science, technology & management.
