(openPR) - (Nashville, TN – Dec. 8, 2010) Curb Records recording artist Ashley Gearing was the keynote speaker at the inaugural Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts’ Teen Leadership Connection, held Saturday, Dec. 4, in Paxton, Mass.

Gearing, a Massachusetts native and former Girl Scout, spoke to more than 200 girls at the conference on the campus of Anna Maria College. The event was organized to promote healthy living decisions and provide an opportunity for the girls to meet and speak with Gearing, who shared some of her past experiences as a Girl Scout and her current career as a Country artist.

“It was so much fun to be able to not only speak and sing to these girls, but also to get to know them on a more personal level with the question and answer time,” said Gearing. “I really wanted to encourage them to make the best out of this time in their lives because it is one of the most important, and the healthy life decisions they make now can impact them forever. I was there to inspire the girls to follow their dreams, but they really turned out inspiring me.”
