Press release from: SkyRFID Inc.
(openPR) - Summary:
SkyRFID announces their new super tiny UHF Gen 2 metal mount tag especially designed for small tight areas that need an RFID metal mount tag. Hand weapons, PDA’s, small computer equipment, wherever a really light weight tag is needed for asset tracking.
Detail:
November 29, 2010 SkyRFID Inc. recently announced the availability of their new Gen 2 UHF super tiny metal mount tag designed for implementation in very small places such as PDA’s, Mobile phones, routers and other smaller computer and electronic equipment. In addition to electronic equipment this tag was designed to fit inside the grips of handguns for RFID tracking or revolvers and semiautomatic handguns. The tag measures a 12.2 mm x 7.3 mm x 1.7 mm thick (0.48” x 0.29” x 0.065”) which allows it to fit inside the handgrip on either side of the magazine of Sig Sauer’s, Colt’s, Beretta’s, Browning’s, Mr. Smith & Wesson and other handguns that have limited real estate for an RFID tag.
Read range for this super tiny tag is 50 cm (1.6’) using a portable hand held reader when the tag is directly attached to metal. The tag can be read at one meter or possibly more when using Gen2 fixed readers or a door portal making this a perfect tag choice for a very wide variety of small metallic and electronic assets. The tag itself is ceramic with a silver antenna so it can handle gun cleaning solvents and also the shock of a weapons being fired repeatedly. For computer and electronic assets this tag provides the needed small size to fit almost anywhere and with a 96 bit EPC IF, 512 bits user memory and a unique 64 bit TID, it will fit into any size of asset tracking solution.
