PSI provides warehouse management system for Müller-Technik
Press release from: PSI AG
(openPR) - Berlin, 24 November 2010 – PSI subsidiary PSI Logistics GmbH has been awarded by Müller-Technik GmbH with the delivery of the warehouse management system PSIwms, including a transport control system and radio data transmission, for its site in Steinfeld in Lower Saxony.
Müller-Technik’s 10,000-pallet logistics centre, which is currently under construction, pools the storage capacities of the surrounding eight warehouses in Steinfeld. PSIwms controls production supply and disposal, from incoming goods and commissioning, including multi-order picking and inventory taking, to outgoing goods in the manual, and subsequently in the automated, high-bay warehouse.
Besides batch management, which is essential for the automotive industry, the new warehouse management system handles cross docking and comprehensive container management. The system also manages other external and consignment warehouses. PSI Logistics is already providing the necessary text data in the respective foreign languages for the roll-out of PSIwms in sites in Poland and the Czech Republic.
Running under the motto “Precision in Plastic”, Müller-Technik GmbH produces tools and injection-moulded components primarily for the automotive industry, including renowned customers such as Johnson Controls, Faurecia, Brose, Sennheiser and ZF.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, mining, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,400 persons in the group. www.psi.de, www.psilogistics.com
