The earthquake that struck Haiti in January 2010 lasted approximately 35 seconds, but the devastation could have effects that last for years. In an effort to lend a hand in worldwide relief assistance, Finanxo Loans, an Offshore Loan Company serving the American, Eurasia & Australia Continents raised more than $87,000 which was donated to four charities dedicated to rebuilding the nation.

More than $45,000 was donated to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund and thousands more were donated to UNICEF, the Christianville Clinic in Haiti to help rebuild its facility, and Samaritan Feet, an organization providing shoes to Haitians to protect their feet from surrounding debris.

“Finanxo Loans Services have been long-time supporters of the Red Cross through the Support American Troops program, blanket collections during the winter and annual blood drives,” said Stephanie Krieg, Finanxo Loans Community Relations Assistant Director. “While we work with many charitable organizations, we chose these four charities because they represent our company’s philosophy of doing the right thing.”

Finanxo Staffs challenged each other to raise funds through auctions, jeans days, potlucks and payroll deduction campaigns. Finanxo Loans matched staffs donations.

“Our staffs understood the need and acted quickly and creatively in order to make an impact to help those in need thousands of miles away,” said Krieg.

On Jan. 12, 2010, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck southern Haiti creating catastrophe in and around the capital, Port-au-Prince, claiming the lives of hundreds of thousands and leaving nearly a million homeless. Approximately 250,000 homes and 30,000 buildings collapsed or were severely damaged, including government buildings, hospitals and transportation facilities which are all vital for emergency response. As a result, many Haitians found themselves living in the streets or in makeshift assistance camps out of fear that the structures that did remain might not withstand daily aftershocks. Rescue work began immediately, with many countries providing doctors, military personnel and supplies to aid survivors.

Finanxo is one of the leading Offshore Loan Services Providers obtaining funds from some of the World’s Leading Financial Institutions. Initially serving only the American Continents, Finanxo is currently extending its services to Eurasia & Australia Continents.
