November 15, 2010 – Shocking new statistics show that one in five dates ends in awkwardness. The good people at online dating company Mate1.com decided they could no longer stand by and let this plague wreck their hard work. They knew the cure for the awkward date may be a long time coming, but were determined to find a way to ease the pain. And so the Mate1.com Check Please! contest was born, offering awkward dating victims a way to share their suffering with the world for a chance at $5,000 in prizes.

Step 4: Get your friends and family to watch the video and spread it through your social channels. The Final 10 most viewed and mentioned videos will make it to the finals where Pauly will be the judge of whose date was the most awkward and you could win one of our awesome grand prizes.
