Agora Gallery Presents Cory ‘Brendan’ Parker in the Apex of Transcendence
Press release from: Agora Gallery
Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature Florida artist, Cory ‘Brendan’ Parker, in the Apex of Transcendence. The exhibition is scheduled to run from November 23, 2010 through December 14, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, December 02, 2010).
Combining mixed media with acrylics, Cory ‘Brendan’ Parker’s highly textured abstractions and landscapes rise tantalizingly from the canvas, playfully interacting with light and shadow. In a technique he calls “experimental Impasto acrylic alchemy” Parker uses the physical depth of his mediums to create the composition itself, the gnarled and twisting branches of trees emerging from the canvas, waves rolling out and crashing upon the wall. The textures give his abstract works a feeling of movement and solidity. Against the roughness of their foundations Parker works fluidly in acrylics, his glossy colors gleaming vibrantly. The dimensional qualities of Parker’s work mean the paintings are especially striking when viewed in person.
Passionate about music, the self-taught artist began painting when an accident to his hand enforced a break in his musical experimentation. Parker sees his art as an expression of his soul and feels it is his duty to use his creative gifts to their fullest potential. As his own spiritual journey continues to evolve so too will his artwork.
Exhibition Dates: November 23, 2010 – December 14, 2010
Reception: Thursday, December 02, 2010, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Gallery Location: 530 West 25th St, New York City

Passion and positivity shine out of the works that make up The Apex of Transcendence. Contributing a delicate spirituality to our perceptions, these artists nonetheless manage to stay connected to the world in which we live. Using their own experiences as a base, they form a deep connection with the viewer, so that one will come away feeling refreshed and inspired.
Featured Artists:
Dominique Boutaud, Ping He, Susan Marx, David Masllorens, Lakshmi Nair, Cathrine Oberg, Cory 'Brendan' Parker, Chantal Westby, Nami Yang

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
Gabriele Ketterl,Director Marketing & PR, Menads
