More efficient workflows allow pharmacists more time for patient care

Bellevue, WA – Pharmacy OneSource, Inc., software as a service provider to more than 1,300 hospitals in the United States, announced today that Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, AZ, has adopted VeriForm for their compliance inspections.

MM.03.01.01, the standard related to medication storage, continues to be the top Medication Management Standard where findings have been scored on Joint Commission accreditation surveys in 2009, and #7 among all standards overall with 33% of organizations surveyed receiving a finding in 2009. VeriForm, a checklist management system, can be used to assist meeting Joint Commission standards for storage of medications in nursing units, clinics, carts, and operating rooms. It provides the ability to create and document these inspections in one flexible, web-based application.

"VeriForm is so user friendly and versatile; we have already added customized settings to fit our particular needs. Our unit stock and monthly medication room inspections have become so streamlined they now take 75% less time to accomplish," said Norma Jones, Senior Technician for Kingman Regional Medical Center. "Our pharmacists and technicians have more time to fulfill the medication needs of the patients and incorporate both new and updated policies and procedures into our hospital pharmacy."

VeriForm has fully-integrated email capabilities so completed forms can be emailed to nurse managers and others for approval, if needed.  It eliminates paper completely from the checklist process and provides a robust reporting tool to complete the process.

"Because VeriForm is so comprehensive, our off-campus clinics and doctor's offices – more than thirty – are served in a timelier manner. The result is that keeping up with the demands of the medications, inspections and outdating, has become a breeze. This new program is 'just what the doctor ordered,'" said Jones.
