Press release from: Contur Software AB

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, October 27, 2010. – Contur Software today announced that Professor Andrew Phillips’ research group at the Department of Chemistry at Yale University has selected iLabber as their Electronic Lab Notebook system.

Professor Phillip’s group study biologically active natural products – from total synthesis and biological function to the identification of smaller molecules with similar biological effects. The broader work of the group required a flexible ELN whilst maintaining the functionality required by the synthetic chemists. iLabber provided an easy to use and cost effective solution offering the scientists a full-scale ELN system in the cloud.

“Contur's ELN system ended up being an easy choice after we evaluated a number of company's platforms. It is a very powerful platform for synthetic chemistry and can be integrated easily with all of the software we already use. One of iLabber’s many strengths is that it is very easy to navigate and use - it has a very intuitive user interface”, says Professor Andrew Phillips, Department of Chemistry at Yale University.

iLabber is the cloud based version of the proven ConturELN system which is used by leading life science, food & beverage and chemical companies worldwide. The iLabber platform provides maximum security and 24/7 availability of the customers research data. iLabber requires no maintenance or investment in hardware or IT.

“iLabber is a turn-key solution to laboratory ELNs, but unlike many packages, it is very flexible 'out-of-box'. It was important for us to be able to embed various file formats - from instrument data, to pictures, to synthetic chemistry schemes - and iLabber is ideal for this. If we had the expertise to write something from scratch, then iLabber is the model for what we would do, but thankfully Contur has already put together a great solution”, Andrew Phillips concludes.
