(openPR) - Besides many advantages FDT sometimes reaches its limits: it is linked to Windows and requires the local installation of DTMs.
By using intelligent technologies for desktop virtualization M&M Software has developed an innovative concept to overcome these limits: Instead of an installation on operator stations, all necessary DTMs are only installed in one central Remote FDT Server together with a special fdtCONTAINER.
Now, an operator station gets access on specific DTM user interfaces via

Remote Desktop Technology. Independent of the platform and architecture of the application, a component for integration in various systems allows the Remote FDT Server for example the error diagnosis and maintenance from within the SCADA system.
This solution drastically reduces the cost for DTM installation- and maintenance . In addition, FDT benefits can now be used beyond the Windows world (e.g. on Linux systems or via Web Browser).
