Core Audiology Information for the Otolaryngology Boards
Press release from: Thieme Publishers
(openPR) - New York/Stuttgart - In “Audiology Answers for Otolaryngologists,” published by Thieme, the authors distil the essential audiology information Otolaryngology residents need to tackle their board examinations, and addresses the most common questions posed by aspiring ear, nose and throat (ENT) physicians.
The book’s unique FAQ (frequently asked questions) and answer format helps readers to crystallize and reinforce must-know concepts. High-quality photographs, audiograms, charts, and tables complement the text.
Hearing loss affects one in ten North Americans. This recently released book builds on the rich history of audiologic research and teaching at Washington University, home to one of the best medical schools and research facilities in the United States, as well as to the Central Institute for the Deaf (CID). For almost 100 years, the CID has been educating children with deafness, researching the causes and treatments of deafness, instructing teachers, and training audiologists.
“[The authors] Drs. Valente, Fernandez and Monroe have a long track record of providing comprehensive audiologic education to all those seeking a better understanding of this expansive field,” said Dr. J. Gail Neely, Director, Otology/Neurotology/Base of Skull Surgery, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri. “We are very fortunate to be able to have them as integral members of our practice/research/education team.”
“Audiology Answers for Otolaryngologists” guides residents through the challenging audiology component of their board exam, and also serves as a handy reference for otolaryngologists, audiologists and speech language pathologists.
