AMAX Enhances Full Range of ClusterMax HPC Systems with Bright Cluster Manager Software to Speed Configuration and Radically Ease System Management

San Jose, CA – October 13, 2010. Bright Computing, a leader in cluster management software and services for high-performance computing (HPC), and AMAX, a leader in HPC solutions, announced today that AMAX ClusterMax™ Series cluster systems are now available with Bright Cluster Manager™ pre-installed. AMAX’s powerful cluster systems can now be installed and operational within hours, and managed through a single, easy to use graphical user interface. The Bright Cluster Manager, with its extremely efficient, single daemon, also maximizes the system throughput by minimizing system management overhead, improving system performance.

The AMAX ClusterMax Series is available in eight product lines optimized for specific purposes, from large-scale compute-intensive systems to servers to support cloud computing to high-speed graphical systems packed with GPUs. These powerful HPC systems can be customized to support a wide range of industry-specific applications. The ClusterMax Series combined with Bright Computing Manager offers a more efficient way of managing servers to deliver high productivity, drive server consolidation, optimize virtualization applications, and lower total cost of ownership.

“AMAX offers an impressive array of cluster systems, and have demonstrated great success in serving the demanding needs of their customers,” said Dr. Matthijs van Leeuwen, CEO of Bright Computing. “AMAX ClusterMax systems, coupled with Bright Cluster Manager, enable their customers to get the most computing for their investment. And they will see this benefit quickly, as Bright Cluster Manager will reduce configuration and setup time to hours, instead of weeks.”

“Our customers have benefited greatly from the AMAX ClusterMax Series, often achieving orders of magnitude in terms of processing power and improvements in scalability and performance,” said Jean Shih, President, AMAX. "By combining Bright Computing's strong software technology with AMAX’s high-performance ClusterMax platform, we now have a greater competitive advantage of this growing HPC market segment by offering our customers a complete and more intuitive supercomputing platform.”

AMAX will be demonstrating their latest ClusterMax Series HPC solutions with Bright Cluster Manager software at SEG 2010, in Denver, Colorado, from October 17-20, 2010.
