(openPR) - Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature Lebanese artist, Lara Nasr, in Labyrinth of Abstraction. The exhibition is scheduled to run from October 29, 2010 through November 19, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, November 04, 2010).
A self-taught artist, Lara Nasr’s lyrical compositions are the expressions of intuitive, raw emotions. Nasr’s melodic lines are the traces of a mood, be it sadness or joy, and are at once deeply personal and universal. Regardless of medium, line and shape come alive in Nasr’s works, forming symphonies of passionate visual sensation. Fiercely rhythmic, Nasr’s works remind us that we are all indeed human, and therefore share in the joys and sorrows of life. Whether working with charcoal, oils or acrylics, Nasr is true to her instinctive feelings. Technique is secondary to the power of Nasr’s range of emotions, from despair to bliss. “I am always developing new techniques that are the product of new ideas which in turn are the product of forever developing and changing feelings to be expressed,” states Nasr. She refuses to limit herself to medium or style, committed instead to exploring the sea of human emotion through any and every technique necessary.

Nasr lives and works in her birthplace, Monsif, Byblos, Lebanon.
