(openPR) - NEXCOM’s popular VTC Series has been extended with the launch of VTC 6200-NI, a dedicated computing solution for in-vehicle surveillance applications. VTC 6200-NI utilizes the powerful video processing capability of the of Intel® Atom™ D510 processor which can support Dual Core technology. With additional Video Capture Module, VTC 6200-NI is the ideal solution for surveillance applications within public transport or fleet transport.

Based on the Intel® Atom™ D510 Dual Core 1.66Ghz, VTC 6200-NI is a rugged telematics PC which is capable of operation in environments ranging from -30 to 60 degrees and can withstand shock and vibration up to 2G. To facilitate mobile communication and navigation, VTC 6200-NI has an integrated GSM, GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA and GPS.

For further functionality in in-vehicle computing, VTC-6200-NI can be equipped with optional odometer and dead-reckoning features. The Odometer indicates the distance travelled by a car or other vehicle, whilst the dead-reckoning function enables the driver to estimate their current position based upon a previously determined location, and advance that position based on speeds and elapsed time.

This ultra-reliable in-vehicle PC has a 2-year warranty and a 5-year life time support. Certifications include CE, FCC Class B, e13 Mark and EN50155 approvals.
In addition to mobile surveillance, VTC 6200-NI is the ideal hardware platform for use as a mobile data terminal which can be used to monitor fuel use, driver behavior and vehicle condition. Information can be seen and recorded in real time and used to predict future failures or faults. VTC 6200-NI will find applications within public transit vehicles (taxi cabs), courier vehicles, service trucks, commercial tracking fleets, military logistics, fishing fleets, emergency vehicles and more.
