(openPR) - With its new release Onepoint Project 10.1 the leading vendor of easy-to-use, IPMA/PMI-compliant project management solutions Onepoint Software integrates two very dynamic project management aspects: agile PM and JIRA. The new software version features two optional modules for the vendor’s flagship product Enterprise Server/Cloud that seamlessly integrate agile project management (PM) based on the Scrum framework into an IPMA/PMI-compliant multi-project management environment. Earlier this year the announcement of tightly integrated agile PM motivated Gartner to include Onepoint into their 2010 IT PPM magic quadrant.

The Agile Planning Option (APO) provides a new “Products” area inside Onepoint Project allowing for integrated product and release planning – including support for planning, managing and prioritizing requirements such as new features, improvements and issues. Requirement definitions also support all fields necessary for implementing Scrum product backlogs like story points and importance. Agile planning itself takes place in Onepoint’s “Planning” tool where requirements and stories can be used to quickly create agile tasks and to schedule them using sprints. With its Greenhopper plug-in Atlassian’s JIRA is one of the most widely used issue tracking and agile task management tools worldwide. Onepoint Project 10.1 synchronizes issues and product backlogs from JIRA to Onepoint in real-time. If combined with agile planning product backlogs can be managed in JIRA, while agile project planning can be done in Onepoint, thus providing many advantages including the possibility for real resource utilization planning. The next version of Onepoint Project due later this year will take the JIRA integration even further and will also support direct aggregation of JIRA projects into Onepoint’s reporting architecture.
