2D sensing of oxygen-, pH- and CO2-distributions: at the BIOTECHNICA 2010 in Hanover from October 5 – 7, 2010, PreSens presents its new Imaging Solutions for the first time.
Press release from: PreSens Precision Sensing GmbH
The new image processing devices combine digital imaging technology with optical sensor technology to record the sensor response of a planar sensor foil which covers the surface of a sample, e. g. animal or plant tissue, cell suspensions or sediments. The optical sensor foil translates the respective analyte content into a light signal which is recorded pixel by pixel using a digital camera. Heterogeneous samples can now easily be evaluated with respect to reliable addressing regions with high or low analyte content because one single image contains the information of an array of single point sensors. “With this method we will be able to visualize pH dynamics in the rhizosphere of plants two dimensionally.”, says Dirk Gansert, Göttingen Centre for Biodiversity & Ecology. “And as we can measure non-invasively, our sample can be analyzed without irritation or destruction even over a long period of time.”
A first prototype of the image processing devices will be shown at this year’s BIOTECHNICA in Hanover early October (Hall 9, Booth G53). The PreSens Imaging Solutions consists of a small sized camera handpiece, a 4 x 4 cm2 flexible sensor foil – which can be shaped to any desired geometry just using a scissor – and a customized software
PreSens Precision Sensing GmbH is a leading developer, manufacturer and distributor of chemical-optical sensors. Its continuously expanding range of sensor systems for O2, pH and CO2 is for end users in Biotech & Pharma, Food & Beverage, Scientific Applications and OEM manufacturers for Medical Devices. Founded as a spin-off from the University of Regensburg / Bavaria back in 1997, PreSens has evolved to be an organization dedicated to bring together state-of-the-art sensor technology and customer needs. The more than 40 employees and a network of contract developers and suppliers from the heart of German engineering are the company’s most important resource: Maintaining flexibility while developing and manufacturing according to highest quality standards as ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003. This is the challenge they master every day. From its site in Regensburg, Germany, PreSens offers full service in Europe, America and Asia – together with its distributors and partners.

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
