(openPR) - Meeting on LANXESS' butyl rubber plant in Singapore and innovation processes; Visit to high-tech rubber pilot plant; LANXESS' Global Head of Human Resources to speak at Singapore Human Capital Summit

Yesterday, the ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Germany, Jacky Foo Kong Seng, visited LANXESS' headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany, and held talks with Chairman of the Board of Management of LANXESS AG Axel C. Heitmann and Board member Werner Breuers.

The main subject of the meeting was the construction of LANXESS’s new high-tech rubber facility in Singapore. Starting in 2013, the Group will operate Asia’s largest facility for the manufacture of synthetic rubber – mainly for tire production – on Jurong Island. The cost of investment for the project is up to EUR 400 million.

The ambassador also found out more about the Group’s innovations and production processes and visited the LANXESS pilot plant for high-tech rubber in Leverkusen.

Asia-Pacific is a key region for LANXESS. In 2009, the company recorded sales here of some EUR 1.14 billion. LANXESS’s record investment in Singapore will create up to 200 new highly skilled jobs.

In Singapore, today, LANXESS' Global Head of Human Resources, Mr Zhengrong Liu, will speak on the panel titled "Talent Management in Asia - What works?" at the Singapore Human Capital Summit 2010. Liu was the first Chinese to be appointed as Group Senior Vice President among the top 50 German business corporations in 2004.
