New era dawning for material handling market
Press release from: Q-lion
Amsterdam, The Netherlands — Q-lion, a part of Multinational Pon Holdings, launches a lithium ion battery solution for the material handling market, which reduces charging times by 32 times, improves productivity by 10%, and reduces environmental impact by 45%. This lithium ion battery and charging solution is a true breakthrough within the industry.
During the Prologistic fair in Brussels (29-30 Sept), Q-lion will launch this new product.
“Many suppliers talk about the new lithium ion batteries as a future possibility and they are still in pilot phases and struggling to get economics work”, said Koert Huisman (general manager of Q-lion). He is proud to announce their product, which is ready to market, and explains why he thinks they solved the problem. “The key in our development is not the lithium ion battery itself, but it’s the combination of the right lithium ion cells and the fast charging technology”
In the material handling and cleaning markets, many manufacturers see the benefits of lithium ion, compared to the current industry standard lead acid, for the pure reason that it is a light weight, safer and maintenance free. But these benefits are not justifying the current price difference. By adding the technology of the quick charging technology we can get the economics work. With the Q-lion product we can fully charge in 15 minutes and therefore eliminate the time and hassle of swapping batteries and provide the cost-savings of a new investment of an additional battery.
The greatest benefit of the new lihium ion battery is the 10% productivity increase, due to better power supply. This productivity enhancement significantly reduces operational costs.
Another advantage of the new battery is the improvement of the environmental impact. A study at the University of Brussels proved a 45% reduction of environmental impact compared to the traditional Led Acid battery solution.
Q-lion is a pioneer in the material handling marketplace with this new battery solution and looks forward to share its capabilities at the upcoming fair in Brussels, as a guest at the Motrac Handling and Cleaning exhibit stand.
