Press release from: BPM-X

BPM-Xchange® is an Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) software specialized in model, master and meta data transformations. It offers the exchange of non-transactional data amongst a variety of tools, formats and methodologies, covering a wide range from standard to highly sophisticated requirements. As an EAI platform, BPM-Xchange® integrates modeling applications, repositories or databases by converting, transforming and exchanging both their model data and methodology. The latest integration offering includes the connectivity between the business process management system (BPMS) platform TIBCO iProcess Suite and SPARX Systems Enterprise Architect for BPMN modeling of business processes.

SPARX Systems offers the Enterprise Architect tool for software engineering and business process modeling. It supports standard UML 2.3 as well as a subset of BPMN version 1.1 and provides data storage and exchange defined by the XMI 2.1 specification. The BPMN notation is specifically targeted at the business modeling community and has a relatively direct mapping in Enterprise Architect to UML through BPMN Profiles. By using these profiles, Enterprise Architect enables you to quickly and easily develop BPMN diagrams and store these diagrams in XMI format.
TIBCO is a software vendor that provides highly sophisticated business process management (BPM) and EAI software that empowers businesses to own and drive business process improvement. TIBCO BPM software automates any type of process – short-lived or long-lasting, structured or dynamic, processes involving people and IT systems, and processes that expand organizational and geographical boundaries. Many large organizations are using the TIBCO iProcess™ BPM software to optimize their internal business, B2B or B2C processes.
However, many organizations are using different tools in the area of Enterprise Architecture (EA), business process analyzing (BPA), software design, process execution and process integration. In case an organization uses SPARX Enterprise Architect, it can be used for process capturing and mapping. With the help of BPM-Xchange®, the BPMN models can now be loaded into the TIBCO Business Studio™ modeling environment. Here, business experts can enhance business process models by adding user interface forms, business objects and organizational structures in order to design highly sophisticated process models for execution in TIBCO iProcess™.
To put this scenario into practice, BPM-Xchange® provides the transformation between XML data storage (e.g. XMI and XPDL as well as method transformation between different BPMN methods) used in SPARX Enterprise Architect and TIBCO Business Studio™. Thus, an organization is able to allow different teams to work together for SoA and BPM projects, to protect existing investments in tools and documentation and to save time and money with seamless process model data exchange.
