Press release from: Managing Editor Inc.

Jenkintown, PA (September 13, 2010) — Managing Editor Inc. (MEI), an Adobe premier development partner and a leading provider of software solutions for the publishing industry, today announced that Product Marketing Manager Brett Kizner will talk about iPad publishing at InDesignSecrets Live! Wednesday, September 15, in Washington, D.C.

Kizner will focus on the capabilities of Adobe’s new Digital Magazine Solution for publishing content directly from Adobe InDesign to App Store-ready iPad editions and other tablets. He will also explain how these tools integrate with the vjoon K4 Cross-Media Publishing Platform, offering publishers a full-featured workflow management system for getting content to any medium — print, Web, tablet and more.

“Adobe’s DMS is the emerging standard for tablet publishing, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with users,” Kizner said. “I’m also excited to demonstrate how integration with the core K4 system can add automation to the app-building process and make production even more efficient.”

The presentation is part if the InDesignSecrets Live! 2010 North American Tour. InDesignSecrets.com is a popular knowledge base for users of Adobe’s leading design and page-layout program. Founded by software and design gurus David Blatner and Anne-Marie Concepcion, the site features blog posts, tutorials, news updates and more, contributed by several industry experts. The Live! tour runs through November, with additional stops in Denver, Los Angeles and Boston, among other cities.

Wednesday's seminar, titled “Beyond Print: EPUB and Interactive Documents,” takes place on the second day of the tour’s Washington stop. In addition to Kizner’s presentation, the day’s agenda includes techniques for implementing interactive elements in InDesign documents, enhancing PDF and SWF content with multimedia, and essential e-publishing practices for creating on-screen publications.

Tuesday’s session, “Tips and Techniques for Every InDesign User,” is designed to take users “to the next level of InDesign expertise.” It will include discussions and demos highlighting performance techniques, troubleshooting tips and recommendations for optimizing InDesign workflows.
