Standard text and reference book on dynamics of machinery now

Dresden, 12th August 2010 – Today the English edition of the popular text book “Dynamics of Machinery” has been released by the Springer-Verlag. The well-known reference book, published in its 9th German edition last year, is now available in English language for students as well as experienced engineers. Methods and approaches for typical tasks in the field of mechanical engineering, detailed result interpretations as well as classical topics from dynamics of machinery form the central contents of the book. As in the German equivalent the books contains a CD-ROM with SimulationX, the standard simulation tool for engineers and scientists. By means of more than 60 modeling examples the reader can test his theoretical knowledge in the field.

As the German edition, with its well-balanced combination of theory and practical application examples the book offers an insight into import topics in the field of dynamics of machinery from the point of view of a mechanical engineer. Besides methods of estimation, reduced models and approximative calculations the book focuses on a huge amount of instructive dynamical effects which play an important role in the construction of heavily loaded machinery. Furthermore the book covers recent essential enhancements of modeling hardware and software. The enclosed simulation tool SimulationX and example models enable the reader to examine the dynamical behavior of real objects, to create simulation models and to validate simulation results.

As a leading international software and engineering company in the field of system simulation ITI always has been involved in different academic research projects all over the world. “Our long lasting and successful cooperation with Prof. Hans Dresig, reaches even far beyond the university sector. Within the scope of seminars, conferences and publications we jointly promote the understanding for system simulation and the competency to make physically-based constructive decisions” explains Uwe Schreiber, Manager Engineering at ITI GmbH.

The English edition of the book „Dynamics of Machinery“ is available in book stores (ISBN 978-3-540-89939-6) or directly at Springer Verlag (www.springer.com) for EUR 106.95.

About SimulationX
SimulationX - The Driving Force in System Simulation defines the standard of modeling, simulation and optimization of complex technical systems. The software models system components from a multitude of domains including their mutual interaction and feedback on one platform. This significantly distinguishes SimulationX from any other kind of CAE software (FEM, CFD, MBS). SimulationX is the standard in software for evaluation of the interaction of all components in technical systems. It is the universal CAE tool for modeling, simulation and analysis of physical effects – with ready-to-use model libraries for 1D mechanics, 3D multi-body systems, power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, thermodynamics, electrics, electrical drives, magnetic as well as controls – post-processing included. SimulationX fully supports the Modelica® language and offers a wide range of open, comprehensive CAx-interfaces. Further information can be found on www.simulationx.com.
