EXASolution 3.1 New version of the High Performance database

August 2010 – EXASOL, a leading provider of database systems for powerful and complex data analysis, releases the new version of its high-performance database management system (DBMS) – EXASolution – today. Version 3.1 enhances the functionality of the analytical database solution. The solution now supports regular expressions, extending its analytical capabilities further. New features make it easier to integrate EXASolution into existing IT environments and to migrate from other DBMSs.
Using regular expressions, finding search terms in texts is now simpler and more convenient. As more than 20 scalar functions of other database manufacturers such as DEGREES() or RADIAN(S) have been implemented, it is now easier for customers to integrate the solution, including in terms of adaptations needed for SQL queries or load processes.
“EXASolution Version 3.1 takes us another step closer to our customers, providing a data warehouse solution that integrates even better and more simply. It is becoming easier and easier to incorporate our innovative solution into an existing system,” says Steffen Weissbarth, CEO of EXASOL AG. “EXASolution is one of the fastest analytical databases in the world and is gaining in popularity in Germany. Our top priority is therefore to offer our customers a solution that is as simple as possible to use.”
EXASOL’s customer base includes companies such as Xing, IMS Health, RatePAY and Webtrekk who rely on analysis of data in real time. “We provide a database management system that can evaluate raw data in real time. Our database is also self-optimising, which means that no time or money has to be spent on tuning,” says Weissbarth.
