London- 28 December 2006- The Apartment Service has received the award for Best Serviced Apartment Company at the prestigious 2007 Buying Business Travel Diamond Awards and Christmas Ball, held at London's exclusive Hurlingham Club on Thursday 7 December 2006.

The Awards are seen as among the most valued and respected of all the accolades, representing the views of the industry's most important customers - those who are responsible for securing the best service and value from suppliers.

The Apartment Service (TAS) was founded 25 years ago, in 1981, as a department within hotel booking agency, Expotel, becoming an independent company in 1991. The Apartment Service have always been at the forefront of the serviced apartment sector, embracing initiatives that have shaped the industry and 1997 formed the UK's first branded serviced apartment product, Executive Roomspace for stays of 28 days plus in 1997 followed by Roomspace Serviced Apartments, for 7 day plus business, in 2006.

In 2006, The Apartment Service became founder-member of the Association of Serviced Apartment Providers (ASAP) within The Association of Relocation Professionals (ASP).
