Atlantik Elektronik presents Nuvoton´s new PCI-Express-to-PCI-Bridge-Family.
This new Conroller family can help to maintain the compatibility to PCI cards, as the obsolence of the PCI-Bus gets nearer in modern chipsets.
All you need to still support PCI on your IPCdesign is a single PCIe channel. The NCT5868D is a PCI Express to PCI Bridge that provides a solution to connect legacy PCI Bus to PCI Express serial Bus. The NCT5868D implements PCI Express as a primary Bus and PCI as a second Bus.
The NCT586xD connects the PCI-Bus via a single PCIe-Lane (X1) with 250Mbit/s data rate.
The PCI Express to PCI/PCI-X Bridge Specification, Revision 1.0 is fully supported, as well as a transparent "Forward Bridge Scheme".
The 32-bit PCI-Interface operates at 33MHz and complies to the PCI local Bus Specification, Revision 3.0 supports also VGA/ISA addressing.
The NCT5868D also contain a two wire signal bus to support EEPROM initialization and internal register access and eight General Purpose I/O GPIO pins (GPIOs) for future system usage. The NCT5868D can provide port80 code from the two wire signal bus or directly drive two 7-segment LEDs to display.
The NCT586xD family consists of the NCT5862D which is able to address up to 2 PCI devices, where as the NCT5868D can be used to attache up to 4 PCI devices to the system.
