(openPR) - CHICAGO (8/2/10) – Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® has named Joe Horning to its board of directors. Horning is president of Shorewest Realtors, the largest real estate company in Wisconsin, based in Milwaukee.

Horning is the third generation of Hornings – along with his brother, John – to guide the company, which was established in 1946 as Wauwatosa Realty and is now 25 offices and 1,000 associates strong. Today, the Shorewest family of companies includes Wisconsin Mortgage Corporation, Heritage Title Services, Shorewest Real Estate Institute and Shorewest Insurance Associates, plus Home Closing, Marketing, Information Technology, Home Services, Career Development and Relocation Center divisions.

Horning earned a B.S. degree in business administration from Marquette University and has held several roles in the family business since joining it in 1991, including establishing and operating its Information Systems division

His numerous business and civic activities include being the current Chairman of The Realty Alliance, Vice President of Metro MLS in Milwaukee and a steering committee member of the Wisconsin Internet Real Estate Exchange. Joe has been a past Village Trustee in Pewaukee and member of the Community Development Block Grant Board for Waukesha County. He is also on the Alumni Association Board of Directors for Marquette University High School and is a member of YPO Wisconsin. In 2005 Joe was recognized in the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 40 under 40 list of rising business executives.
