Set-top box design for DVB-C, DVB-T and IPTV broadcasts from SemiDevices and STMicroelectronics

SemiDevices releases its new set-top box design, developed in partnership with STMicroelectronics, the world leader in the market of SoC and semiconductor solutions. The design is based on STi7167, advanced STB decoder with integrated DVB-T/DVB-C demodulator, which allows also IPTV broadcasting and supports SD/HD video.
The new STB design can be considered as an all-in-one DVB-T+IPTV or DVB-C+IPTV hybrid solution, as SemiDevices provides expanded capabilities: HDMI video outputs, USB 2.0, 100Mbit Ethernet and supports SATA hard drives for one of the most popular functions among digital TV users – PVR (Personal Video Recorder). Also it includes composite video output, stereo audio outputs, and IR remote control receiver.
This design can be used as a cost-effective solution in stand-alone set-top box products or as embedded solution in other multimedia devices, such as TV sets or media players. Moreover SemiDevices offers full customization services according to customer’s needs.
