Grupo ASSA hires Senior Corporate Finance Director

(Buenos Aires, June 2010) Grupo ASSA, a Consulting and Outsourcing company that helps clients with their Business Process Transformation through Information Technology, has announced that Pedro Massalin has joined the company as Senior Corporate Finance Director.

In this role he will join the Shared Services Center for the entire company, and will lead the Finance and Treasury departments for the various regions where Grupo ASSA operates, reporting directly to company CEO Roberto Wagmaister.

Massalin brings to the company an important and renewed financial vision, and from this area will help to lead the company’s sustained growth, which this year added two noteworthy shareholders - the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank Group’s private sector support institution, and HSBC Latin America Partners, who together with a group of private investors have brought US$ 20 million to Grupo ASSA in order to finance its global expansion.

Pedro Massalin began his career in the administrative department of Pérez Companc (today Petrobras) and continued as Credit and Bank Analyst at ESSO S.A.P.A.

In 1996 he embarked on a career at AB INBEV Group, beginning in Argentina as Treasury and Accounts Payable Coordinator.

In 1998 he was promoted to the position of Financial Manager for Brahma in Argentina and Paraguay. In 2001 he was named Administration and Finance Director for the Southern Cone, with responsibility for the operations of seven companies in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

In 2003 he was transferred to Brazil as Project Manager, where he was responsible for centralizing the administration of the company’s new operations in Latin America. One year later, he was designated Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for AMBEV’s operations in Central America, based in Guatemala.

Toward the end of 2005, AMBEV Group transferred him back to Brazil to manage the Treasury of its new operations in Latin America. His outstanding performance took him to AB INBEV Group’s headquarters in Belgium, where he became Global Financial Director and was responsible for the definition and implementation of global policies, best practices and controls, with the objective of cash flow optimization at AB INBEV Group.

Massalin has a degree in Business Administration and an Executive MBA from the Instituto Argentino de la Empresa (IAE), completed a Corporate Financial Strategy program at Northwestern University in Chicago, and a postgraduate degree in Strategic Human resources Management at I.D.E.A.
