New version of Conigma™ DEVSYNC with significant enhancements

Press release from: Galileo Tools GmbH
(openPR) - Multi-User support, an extended security model and the new “Blacklist” functionality enable very high degree of automating the synchronization of SAP® systems.

Munich, 29th of June, 2010 - Galileo Tools GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of software solutions for SAP® change, release and transport management today announces the availability of version 2.1 of Conigma™ DEVSYNC. Focus of the new version 2.1 was a highly improved support for distributed tasks and roles during the process of synchronizing SAP systems which are typical in a larger organization. To achieve this objective, the following functionalities has been implemented:

Multi-User Support
In particular for larger SAP teams, it is now possible, that several developers are able to work in parallel on the objects, they are responsible for, if synchronization becomes necessary. The individual decisions how to deal with an object will be stored, but not yet built into a transport order, so there can be additional changes by other users. After finishing the decisions regarding synchronization for all objects, a final Conigma™ DEVSYNC run takes place, taking over all objects being marked for synchronization in one transport order.

Security
Introducing multi-user support required also an extension of the security model of Conigma™ DEVSYNC. The new SAP roles for Conigma™ DEVSYNC differentiate between developers who are allowed to work on objects, mark and store them for synchronization and the users, who are allowed to build and release the transport order for a synchronization run.

„Blacklist“ Functionality
Conigma™ DEVSYNC now offers a function to exclude specific objects, groups of objects or table entries from synchronization. For each source system a list may be defined, which is used to check for specific characteristics of an object like type, name, class. Objects matching one of the characteristics cannot be selected for synchronization, but the Conigma™ DEVSYNC analysis will be performed allowing to recognize whether such an object may lead to a conflict or requires synchronization. Each of the exclusions in the list may be documented and the users have access to this documentation via the graphical user interface.

„The new version of Conigma™ DEVSYNC, which since a couple of weeks is in productive use at pilot customers, has been extended particularly for the use by larger SAP teams. Now on the one hand synchronization maybe worked on by several developers in parallel, on the other hand the roles and responsibilities within a team are supported in an optimal way“, said Josef Huber, General Manager of Galileo Tools GmbH. „Conigma™ DEVSYNC enables the SAP users to save a lot of time and money by highly automating the process of synchronization and in parallel avoiding typical errors and their consequences.“
