Press release from: Flashback Data

April 20, 2010 - Austin, TX - Flashback Data, LLC, a computer forensics and data recovery firm headquartered in Austin, Texas, announced today that its forensics laboratory has been accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB).

Flashback Data is the first ever non-governmental lab accredited for computer forensics under ASCLD/LAB International Accreditation Program. The company joins a short list of digital evidence laboratories accredited under the program, including those owned by the F.B.I. and state and county law enforcement.

"For the last 6 years, we've seen digital evidence play an increasingly critical role in civil litigation and criminal investigation. Flashback Data has worked hard to raise the bar on best practices and it's validating to be recognized. This accreditation makes us unique in the private sector and we're excited to be positioned at the top of the computer forensics industry." Michael O'Connell, President, Flashback Data

As part of the accreditation, ASCLD/LAB made a robust assessment of Flashback Data's policies and procedures, including conducting onsite audits of the company's case files, security, and forensics lab and evidence rooms. ASCLD/LAB will annually audit Flashback Data to ensure the company's ongoing compliance and maintain accreditation.

"Flashback Data has always been committed to the quality of its forensics services. However, as the only private company in the world to achieve ASCLD/LAB International accreditation for computer forensics, we've set a new standard. We look forward to continuing to serve our clients with best-in-class technology and specialized experience." Will Ambruzs, Head of Forensics, Flashback Data.

ASCLD/LAB accredits more than 300 forensic laboratories worldwide.
