(Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that Business Link Northwest, the UK Government-funded business support and advice service agency, has selected the Check Point Full Disk Encryption and Check Point Media Encryption solutions to secure confidential data on all of its desktop and laptop computers against loss and theft.

Business Link Northwest needed to secure its computers and data to align security policies with its parent organisation, the Northwest Regional Development Agency, one of nine agencies in England established by the UK Government to improve business development and prosperity in the country’s regions.

To meet the security requirements of its parent organisation, Business Link Northwest needed to deliver transparent, always-on data security for its 360 users, and safeguard against insecure copying of information from its network via USB drives or mobile storage media. The organisation chose the Check Point products for their ease of use, granular control over security, and centralised management capability, which includes easy remote password reset.

The CD encryption feature of the Media Encryption product has proven especially useful for our staff, as it has greatly simplified the process of sending large quantities of data without any risk of it being compromised.”
