(openPR) - Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature French artist, Laurence Brisson, in The French Perspective. The exhibition is scheduled to run from June 29, 2010 through July 20, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, July 01, 2010).

Using the most basic of materials, paper, Laurence Brisson imbues her creations with an exuberant excitement for discovery. Influenced by a plethora of cultures and time periods, Brisson sees her artistic process as a way of unearthing significance in the world around her. Brisson uses an involved, protracted method in order to breathe life into her vivacious creations. Like a playful child, Brisson layers and molds paper in order to adventure through time, space and her imagination. The resulting objects are sparkling creatures that offer us an escape from the mundane. “From these objects I feel a powerful indefinite force which gives me great serenity,” states Brisson. Brisson’s paper creations invite the viewer into this fantastical realm of discovery, tempting us into a more tranquil, yet spirited world. Varying in form, Brisson’s works always exude a palpable energy for life and creativity.

Born near Lyon, Brisson lives and works in Orleans, France.
