ND SatCom’s XWARP® Solution Receives Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award
Press release from: ND SatCom

Christian Adolph, Director Marketing and Axel Daiber, Director IT accepting the GTB Innovation Award for XWARP® in London
Friedrichshafen / London, June 10, 2010 – ND SatCom, an SES ASTRA company, has received the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award 2010 in the Business Service Innovation category for its XWARP® solution, which provides IP applications / Cloud Computing over satellite. XWARP® is the first satellite-based IT solution which offers geographically distributed companies or their IT service providers latency-free, satellite bandwidth-optimized software performance at the user front end for business critical applications such as SAP, Oracle etc. It further provides reliable and secure backup/business continuity capabilities for MPSL connections.
The GTB Innovation Awards recognize the world's innovators in the telecoms industry. Hundreds of nominations for the industry’s innovative projects were received from the readers of Global Telecoms Business since early in 2010. On behalf of ND SatCom, Christian Adolph, Director Marketing and Axel Daiber, Director IT – both the initiators of XWARP® – accepted the award during the Global Telecoms Business executive ceremony in London. Guests at the ceremony included chief executive officers, chief technology officers and other leaders from operators and vendors throughout the world, including Europe, China, Africa, India, Russia, North and South America, and the Pacific.
In presenting the awards, Alan Burkitt-Gray, editor of Global Telecoms Business, commented: “This is the fourth time we’ve run our Innovation Awards and each year we’ve seen that the industry is working harder and harder to deliver exciting and innovative services to its customers worldwide. Congratulations to all the award winners. The industry is seeing a wave of innovation which is making a huge difference – to the companies working in the industry and to all of us in business and as consumers. They are making such a difference to the world.”
“Customer feedback has shown that XWARP® is a serious ‘problem solver’ in the IT & enterprise worlds for issues such as poor application performance in distributed environments – in particular for ERP systems over satellite, unreliable or non existing connectivity to remote branch offices or expensive or congested network bandwidth into remote offices”, states Christian Adolph. “We are very happy to receive the award as it not only honours us as a vendor but also our global technology partner Citrix, who has trusted in the capabilities of XWARP®”, he added.
XWARP® is a unique combination of satellite technology with Citrix delivery/virtualization technologies. It is a solution consisting of Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop in the data center, an advanced SkyWAN® satellite router converged with a Zero Latency Engine, additional security enhancements as well as latency and WAN optimization features.
