3G connection manager supports South African network providers for World Cup 2010
Press release from: nova media MDS GmbH
Berlin based nova media has updated its connection manager launch2net Premium to setup and use a hassle free mobile Internet connection at the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. The latest version of the software now includes connection settings for the South African mobile networks Cell C, MTN, Rentafone, Virgin Mobile as well as VodaCom.
"Broadband connections in South Africa are not very common and quite epensive. Reporters and fans use 3G connections instead.", states Jan Fuellemann, spokesperson of nova media. "To avoid high data roaming costs, it is recommended to use local prepaid SIM cards. Our software and our 3G surfsticks are already setup to be used within the local networks with local SIM cards."
launch2net Premium supports most 3G surfsticks available and already includes connection settings for network providers worldwide. Detailed connection information is provided by a powerful, yet easy-to-use statistics feature. It also includes an integrated SMS text message manager with support for multipart and multigroup text messages and is linked to the address book of Mac OS X.
launch2net Premium can share a 3G modem connection using its Mobile Hub technology. Mobile Hub turns a Mac into a Wi-Fi hotspot with just a few clicks and allows other WLAN devices to log into the new network just like any other Wi-Fi network. Mobile Hub features a blacklist to deny access and offers WEP 128-bit security.
Pricing and availability:
launch2net Premium is available today for download at nova media's website. The price is Euro 49.90 (US-$ 49.90 for residents within the USA and Canada). launch2net Premium requires an Intel Macintosh computer running Mac OS X 10.5.x or 10.6.x. A demoversion of launch2net Premium is available for download as well.
