About the webinar
In response to the changing environment, new risks, regulations and increasing stakeholders’ demands, the internal audit function is moving beyond its traditional transaction-based approach to a more progressive and forward looking one that delivers strategic business assurance and value to an organization. The shifting focus of Internal Audit towards corporate and business goals, strategies and risk management processes needs to be complemented by an upgrade in the Internal Audit infrastructure.

The upgrade will require audit groups to adopt a risk-centric mindset and a conceptual approach to audit strategy, risk assessment and risk management that goes beyond the approach of control based assurance model. In addition, the upgrade also involves developing and maintaining technical competencies and enabling technology necessary for coping with the challenges of Internal Audit in transition.

About the speakers

William J. (Bill) Mulcahy, CPA, CIA, MS
Bill is the Chairman of the Institute of Internal Auditors 2010 International Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Bill is Chairman of the Board and past President of the 1,900 member Institute of Internal Auditors, Atlanta Chapter. Starting at Emory University in1989, he has served as the Director of the Office of Grants and Contracts Accounting, an Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration, and as the Chief Audit Officer. Bill was the Chief Audit Officer for Emory University, from 1994 until his retirement in 2007. Prior to coming to Emory, Bill earned his Certified Public Accountant designation during his ten years with Arthur Andersen & Co.
