AMSA and Thieme Announce Student-Focused Partnership
Press release from: Thieme Publishers
(openPR) - New York/Stuttgart – Thieme, one of the world’s leading scientific, medical and academic publishers, announced today that it is partnering with the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) to offer the physicians of tomorrow the tools and support they need to succeed in medical school.
The Thieme-run premiums available exclusively to AMSA's pre-med members for renewing their student memberships in 2010 include the choice between a complimentary copy of Thieme's “Atlas of Anatomy” or one year of unlimited access to WinkingSkull.com PRO. “Atlas of Anatomy,” the groundbreaking book that is transforming the learning experience for students, is an award-winning atlas that guides readers step-by-step through each region of the body and contains everything medical students need to master anatomy. The “Journal of American Medical Association” describes the more than 2,000 color illustrations and radiographs in the book as “remarkably effective 3-dimensional representation of structures [that don't sacrifice] clarity.”
Students who choose the one-year subscription to “WinkingSkull.com PRO” will reap the benefits of an interactive learning tool for students, based on “Atlas of Anatomy,” that includes labels-on, labels off functionality and a timed self-testing feature.
Whichever premium students choose they will also benefit from free admittance to the “First Annual Thieme Workshop” –led by a leader in the field, to be announced– and a coupon good for 25% off all orders placed on thieme.com, for a limited time.
“For every medical student, Thieme has the resources to meet their individual learning styles and budgets. We are excited to be working with AMSA and are fully committed to having a positive impact on the academic experiences of our future doctors via our broad range of print and digital educational tools and workshops,” states Anne Vinnicombe, Thieme vice-president and director of educational publishing.
“We carefully scrutinize and select the products and services we offer to our AMSA members through our selective partnerships. We recommend Thieme Publishers as one of the first stops for students seeking helpful materials that accommodate different learning needs and styles. It is a tremendous opportunity to work jointly with Thieme to offer our members quality resources that will assist them now and throughout their medical careers. We are excited about working with Thieme immediately and in the future, to provide the best offerings available to our members,” states Dr. Carol Williams-Nickelson, AMSA’s executive director.

Comments about openPR
Your portal is fast, simple, and easy to use. Others may have more functions but they also demand more editing time, you have to preformat the text in order to achieve a good result etc.
I think openPR is really fantastic!
