GFT Global Markets named best foreign exchange broker

Business, Economy, Finances, Banking & Insurance
Press release from: GFT Global Markets
(openPR) - London, England, December 1, 2006 -- Shares magazine has announced that GFT Global Markets was voted Best Foreign Exchange Broker in the magazine’s 2006 Shares Awards. The winners were announced on Nov. 29, 2006, at a gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Readers nominated their favorite providers in a variety of categories, including stocks, derivatives, online research and information, software and fund management. GFT Global Markets beat CMC Markets, FXCM, GNI Touch, Interbank, Saxo Bank and Square Mile Securities to earn the top honors in the Foreign Exchange Broker category.

“We are pleased that the readers of Shares have recognised our commitment to excellence by nominating us for this prestigious award,” said Simon Mansell, COO, GFT Global Markets. “We are in good company with many of the other nominees in our category.”

Gary Tilkin, founder and chairman, GFT Global Markets, credits the company’s success to its commitment to excellence in technology and customer service.

“We strive to maintain and expand upon our high standards of technological innovation, while rapidly evolving our offerings to meet and anticipate the demands of our customers,” said Tilkin. “We focus our efforts on the needs of our customers, and offer benefits such as free one-on-one training and automatic risk-management features.”

GFT Global Markets was also nominated by Shares readers in the category of Best Spread Betting Service.

“GFT is well-known throughout the world for its innovation and leadership in foreign exchange trading services, which is why the next logical step for us was to offer services beyond FX, including spread betting and CFDs,” said Tilkin. “We provide our customers with the same pioneering technologies and services for these additional markets, and we should be a strong contender for 2007 Shares awards in the spread betting and CFD categories.”

GFT Global Markets is related to Global Forex Trading, which has been a world-leading provider of FX services since 1997. GFT Global Markets was established earlier this year to offer online trading services to customers in the U.K. and beyond. GFT Global Markets has also been able to diversify its online trading services beyond foreign currencies, and into CFD and spread betting markets.

Related company Global Forex Trading has received a number of awards this year. The company was named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America, based on its 647 percent revenue growth of the past five years. The company was also named to the Inc. 500, a ranking of the top 500 fastest-growing private companies in the United States, for its three-year growth rate of 331 percent.

Since its launch in 1999, Shares Magazine has been the fastest growing financial title in the U.K. and its achievements have been recognised with numerous industry awards. Comment and expert analysis from Shares journalists is available on a daily basis on MoneyAM, the financial web site aimed at active private investors.
