3D process plant modelling service for capital projects
Press release from: CAD Schroer GmbH
(openPR) - Cambridge, UK – May 2010: A new “hotspot modelling” service provides a 3D model with virtual factory walk-through and review software to Owner/Operators with immediate requirements for facility adaptation, who wish to visualise their issues and discover their options.
Engineering solutions provider CAD Schroer will be joined by long-standing customer and project management expert CEL International (a member of the global engineering and environmental consultancy WSP Group), at stand 5850 from May 25th to 27th at the NEC. The team’s modelling service can include on-site laser scanning and is supported by CAD Schroer’s MPDS4 factory layout and process plant design software.

“Process plant operators who need to adapt, improve or move their installations may be facing engineering resource issues; or they may need a quick way to visualise their plans, facilitating clear communication with the Board,” says CAD Schroer’s Technical Sales Manager, Bill Wilkins. “Rather than doing the modelling themselves, they want a 3D visualisation, which can then be used for further design studies. We now offer that service.”
Pocket-sized plant designs
MPDS4 plant designs can be exported to such a compact format that they can be e-mailed to project stakeholders using the standalone MPDS4 REVIEW software to conduct walk-through inspections.
“Our project managers can carry our process plant models on a USB stick to building sites or planning meetings,” says CEL International’s Mark Randle. “This is incredibly valuable in the pre-sales as well as in the construction phase. The hotspot modelling service delivers such a model, along with all the accompanying CAD files, so if a project is kicked off, the client is up and running with all the existing data there, ready to be modified.”
At this point customers can choose to do the design modifications themselves, or outsource the work to engineering experts like CEL International, who are at the show to share their in-depth industry expertise, as well as their experience with CAD Schroer’s software.
