(openPR) - Starting today the new product version 06.1 is available as Open Source and Team Edition

Graz, 11/22/2006 – Onepoint Software GmbH with headquarters in Graz, Austria, released the new version of their project leadership software Onepoint Project 06.1 after multiple weeks of beta testing today. Onepoint Project is software for project leadership enabling high tech organizations to implement projects more efficiently. In this application the close disciplines of project management and project controlling are connected both logically and technically. This allows making projects more transparent and at the same time, minimizing project risk, administrative effort and costs.

The major improvements of Onepoint Project 06.1 compared to the previous version are significantly better usability, extended project controlling and monitoring functions, and a multi-level undo functionality for the planning component. In addition, it is now possible to import project plans from Microsoft Project and to export project plans as Microsoft Project files.

Project leadership software is also a relevant topic in the open source area: The beta version of the open source variant of Onepoint Project (Open Editon) has been downloaded more than 700 times within the last three weeks. Together with the commercial Team Edition, the vendor has also released the Open Edition as final version 06.1. Upgrading from the Open Edition to the extended functionality set of the Team Edition is besides possible without a database migration. The software is available in English and German.
