VAG hands over donation to hospital hit by earthquake in Santiago de Chile
Press release from: VAG-Armaturen GmbH
(openPR) - Last week, the VAG Group was able to hand over a donation cheque in the amount of € 10,000 to the Dr Felix Bulnes hospital in Santiago de Chile, the hospital which was destroyed by the earthquake.
Built as early as 1940, the hospital now ranges among the city’s largest hospitals and is the place to turn to for over one million inhabitants of the western parts of the city. Hit by one of the severest earthquakes in the history of Chile at the end of February as well as over 270 aftershocks, the region suffered considerable damage. The Doctor Felix Bulnes hospital located in the west of Santiago de Chile had to be completely evacuated because of its heavily damaged building.
To be able to ensure uninterrupted provision of medical care to the population, the building needs to be repaired as soon as possible. This is why the VAG Group had initiated a donations appeal in early March to support the reconstruction of the heavily damaged hospital.
Last Friday, the donation in the amount of € 10,000 was handed over to Dr Vladimir Pizzaro, the director of the hospital, by the employees of VAG-Valves Chile in the name of the VAG Group.
“It is the highest donation we have received so far. We are very happy about it. The donation will help us to overcome the shock of the earthquake and to repair the damage we suffered,” says Mrs Elice Leon, the financial director of the hospital. “We are going to use the donation for the reconstruction of our hospital. We say ‘thank you very much’ to the entire VAG Group.”
