Mesothelioma Clinical Trials at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Require Participants
Press release from: Weitz & Luxenberg
(openPR) - Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City is presently seeking people who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma to participate in at least three clinical trials investigating the effectiveness of drugs designed to treat mesothelioma. People who are interested in participating in the clinical trials will be evaluated by the Sloan-Kettering research team to determine eligibility for participation.
One trial involves the use of the investigational drug CBP 501. CBP 501 is an enzyme that affects cancer cell division. Trial participants will also be given standard mesothelioma treatment drugs Alimta and Cisplatin.
The second mesothelioma clinical trial examines the effectiveness of Everolimus. Everolimus affects the molecule mTOR. mTOR helps cancer cells grow. Participants for this study must have adequate lung function.
The third mesothelioma clinical trial studies the effectiveness of chemotherapy followed by Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). Participants for this trial must not have had any prior chemotherapy or radiation treatment.
