PSI Logistics offers freight cost check-up
Press release from: PSI AG
(openPR) - Berlin, 26 March 2010 - The PSI subsidiary, PSI Logistics GmbH, enables shipping agents and service-providers to examine and optimise their freight terms. Using the real as-is data of their dispatch structures and freight terms, producers and contract logistics experts can now use a freight cost check-up to establish their possible savings potentials in the area of transport logistics.
Transport organisation, tariff design, freight purchasing and IT systems undergo testing, whereby this neutral and independent test not only reveals optimisation potentials. Optional measures are also derived which can achieve cash advantages over the short term via medium- and long-term cost reductions.
The freight cost check-up relies on the simulation functions and Freight Cost Management of the PSItms Transportation Management System. It also ensures transparency of performance features and their percentage of overall costs. With the result that it forms an effective medium for alignment towards cost-oriented transfer prices. Detailed knowledge of individual cost blocks represents the basis for reliable and feasible calculations of logistics tariffs as well as for basic decisions on optimisation possibilities in the area of transport. PSI Logistics offers interested parties the entire consulting package with systematisation of the tariff agreements, comparisons of existing structures, communication of savings potentials as well as recommendations for future freight negotiations and tenders - for an all-inclusive price.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,400 persons in the group. www.psi.de, www.psilogistics.com
