Raandesk Gallery Exhibits The Works Of Matthew Miller

Press release from: RAANDESK Gallery of Art
PR Agency: Stark Communications

(openPR) - Painting is just the beginning of the process for this young artist…

The RAANDESK GALLERY OF ART is hosting an exhibition of the multi-dimensional paintings by emerging artist Matt Miller. The act of painting is just the beginning of the process for Miller, who employs a complex technique in which he paints the canvas first, then treats it with chemicals. In the words of the artist: "The result is a piece where each mark of paint [is] substantial enough to resist the solvents… The patterns the foam melt into create a weight and value…that causes it to seem equal to, or in many instances more profound than the marks themselves… the paint becomes almost secondary to the result of the process."

Alex McCoy and Micki McCoy of iNTERCOURSE! Magazine describe Miller's work as "dynamic and sublimate… We the viewers are mystified by the series of epiphanies Miller has presented for us in a wall schematic of the foam's journey from raw to processed and packaged."

Miller currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. His work has been featured in various group shows throughout the region. In addition to painting, he also expresses his artist sensibilities through sculpture, video pieces and photography.
