(openPR) - Olching, 26th October 2006: The new “IXI-UMS MDS Message Distribution Service“ will be available at serVonic shortly. The new service enhances the existing routing-possibilities of the unified messaging solution IXI-UMS. The inbound routing and the outbound routing of UM-messages now can be realized automatically by means of predefined rules to several systems (primary/overflow), independent of network topology and site. This is not only decisive for the support of distributed architectures with several sites, but also for improved high availability as well as the integration in security concepts.

Especially for internationally operating enterprises with several sites, IXI-UMS MDS offers the possibility to integrate unified messaging flexibly, efficiently, cost-effectively and safely in the existing IT-infrastructure. With the new service, companies for example can provide their employees at the sites with the infrastructure for the IXI-UMS features in a central ERP- or messaging-system. At the sites, only the IXI-UMS Kernel – with the contained services Fax, Voice or SMS – has to be installed, which requires not much maintenance and administration. Centrally, IXI-UMS MDS as well as the respective IXI-UMS Connector for the integration in the system environment are installed. The IXI-UMS Kernels at the sites can be configured and controlled by the administrator at the head office via the IXI-UMS Remote SnapIn for the MMC.
The new service takes care of the routing and the transport of the messages, based on common standards, as always with serVonic’s software. A delivery of the UM-messages that way cannot only be realized to sites in the LAN or WAN, but by means of HTTP also to those that are connected via any IP-connection. An improved high availability by multi-computer concepts so can be realized flexibly, independent of the respective network architecture. If a machine or Kernel should fail, the IXI-UMS Kernels at the sites and at the head office can replace each other. The dial-up between the sites and the head office is done via TCP/IP on one single defined port, only in one direction. This additionally allows the administrator an uncomplicated configuration and control on the part of an existing firewall.

Prices and Availability
IXI-UMS MDS is available at serVonic and sales partners from November 2006 for prices beginning at 120 € per channel (plus legal VAT, if applicable).
