(openPR) - DALLAS -- The Dallas-based law firm of Taber Estes Thorne & Carr PLLC is pleased to announce that Katherine M. Anand has joined the firm as an associate attorney.

Ms. Anand’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and dispute resolution, representing clients before state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. Her litigation experience includes cases involving breach of contract, negligence, fraud and misrepresentation, oil and gas disputes, intellectual property disputes, and defense of personal injury claims. Additionally, Ms. Anand is expanding her law practice through the representation of high net worth individuals and corporate executives with divorce and child custody issues.

“The trial work at Taber Estes Thorne & Carr is second to none,” says Ms. Anand. “In my first month alone, I’ve been involved in hearings, a mediation, and several strategy sessions. A cum laude graduate of the Notre Dame Law School, Ms. Anand served on the Notre Dame Law Review as a staff member and editor of the Federal Courts, Practice and Procedure edition. She earned her undergraduate degree in politics, magna cum laude, from the University of Dallas.

A volunteer for the Human Rights Initiative and Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program, Ms. Anand has handled pro bono matters involving immigration and family law matters. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Dallas Bar Association’s LegalLine Committee and Co-Chair of the Community Involvement Committee. She also is a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association, DRI-The Voice of the Defense Bar, and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel.
